They said Joan never married, but the truth was more romantic than any proposal. In the spring of 1942 she fell for a French artist who sketched her portrait in a garden blooming with irises. He gave her a ring — a delicate band of gold set with violet amethysts, the same shade as the flowers where they first met. When he returned to Paris, she slipped the ring onto her finger and never took it off, waiting for a letter that never came.
Featuring three natural violet amethysts set in solid 9k gold and size US 7, this vintage-style piece feels both delicate and enduring. One of a kind romance. Each ring is hallmarked for authenticity and can be sized up or down up to 2 sizes by a jeweller. (We can do this for an extra $125)
Jewellery care
Showering is perfectly fine!
Chlorine and salt are corrosive chemicals and they will limit the life of your jewels with prolonged exposure. Rinse them in clear water after an ocean dunk and keep them away from perfumes, retinol and sunscreens and other lotions - Careful handling will keep you and your jewels golden!

warranty and returns
Orders may be returned for store credit within 30 days of delivery, excluding items subject to final sale listed below.
The following orders on our website are final sale unless faulty:
- International orders shipped to destinations outside the Australia & New Zealand
- Goods in our SALES collections and events
- Earrings; due to health and hygiene laws
- Items designated archive or final sale
- Orders purchased with store credit or gift cards
Purchases made with Afterpay or Paypal will have fees taken from any refund - fees will be waived in the event of the item being faulty.
If you wish to return an item that is eligible for return, please contact customersupport@bixbyandcompany.com.au to initiate the return process. Returns must be authorised by a customer service representative. Do NOT use Instagram DMs for customer service enquiries.
If your purchase is eligible for return, a customer service representative will provide instructions for return. Returns must be shipped within 4 days of authorisation.
Items must be in original, unworn condition, including original packaging, to be accepted for return. In the event of non-compliance, we reserve the right to deny the return and/or deduct a restocking or repair fee from any store credit.
Please pack your goods respectfully to avoid damage—we advise using the box your order arrived in. Bixby & Co will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged packages during transit.
Returns initiated beyond 30 days of receipt of your order, or shipped beyond 4 days of your receipt of a return authorisation, will not be accepted.
Please note that store credit issued as a result of a return excludes any shipping fees paid in connection with the original order and that all return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
